Stonor Park VW Expo 2018

After a short (some might say too short…) break we headed off down to the very picturesque Stonor Park in Oxfordshire, venue for the ever popular VW Expo show run by the Association of British Volkswagen Clubs.

This year – and most years at Stonor actually – the weather was fantastic. Someone had booked sunshine and it had been delivered. And good weather, as we all know is what you really need for outdoor car shows.

This year seemingly saw a few slight changes to the layout at Stonor which seemed to work really well and its worth noting that the ‘Miss VW’ contest has finally been dropped from the show as it had seemed to be something of an anachronism in the times in which we live. The changes also seemed to give more space to display cars though and the field was packed with a superb, and high quality selection of Volkswagen and Audi models with the shows emphasis seeming to be more about the classic and a selection of more modern cars (what in Europe they call Youngtimers – 80’s and early 90s) rather than modern, modified cars which makes for a far more interesting show for most. For our part we had a pretty good – if rather long – day and as ever it was nice to see some familiar faces as well as meeting a lot of customers for the first time.

So despite it being quite a long way from LobsterDiecast HQ its well worth the trip. We’d even say that if you like VW shows then it’s worth putting in your diary for 2019. We’ll see you there!

So pictures then…. (and theres more on our facebook page too)
