Stanford Hall 2018

If you’ve got a succesful thing going, then reason says you don’t mess too much with the formula. Happily, it seems that the Leicestershire & Warwickshire VW Owners Club agree as whilst their annual event at Stanford Hall in Leicestershire has grown beyond all recognition in its forty one years, it is still very much a laid back, relaxed car show held in superb surroundings.

But without the need to re-invent the wheel (or car show if you prefer being factually correct) the show has become without a doubt one of the premier VW events not just in the UK but across Europe and makes a superb way for us to kick off our show season. This year we were blessed with unusually hot weather with not a cloud in the sky which helped bring in what certainly appeared to be record numbers of visitors. The car club stands were filled with everything classic Volkswagen you could hope to see with a number of Audis mixed in too. Meanwhile the trade area had a hot and busy day and for us it was nice (as ever with car shows) to meet customers old and new and put a few faces to names. Away from that, Stanford Hall itself and its grounds are well worth a look and there are numerous other activities to keep everyone entertained!

But before we knew it, it was all over for another year. We’ll be back in exactly the same place in 2019 and if you haven’t been before then we’d highly recommend it as it really is a fantastic show at a fantastic venue. But in the meantime, as show season is well and truly underway we’re looking forward to our next show and we’re heading down to Leeds Castle in Kent for Motors By The Moat. This is our third year at this show and its another that we’re really pleased to be back at. If you’re in the South East (or just like driving to get to shows) then it’s worth checking out!
