And so, seemingly only moments after 2016’s show season ended we were back at it all again for our first show of 2017 – Stanford Hall VW organised by Leicestershire & Warwickshire VW OC.
Now in it’s 42nd year the show seemingly carries on growing and going from strength to strength to the point that it surely must be about as big as it can be despite the ample grounds of Stanford Hall. For those who have visited before – and if you are a VW enthusiast then surely you’ve been at least once – then you’ll know that this is a great place to kick off the summer show season. Stanford Hall offers something for pretty much everyone with classic Beetles sat alongside modern Golfs and a very high standard of car on display in Stanford’s Concours arena – the overall winner incidentally being a very nice and exactly as it left the factory standard Mk2 Golf GTi.
Somehow, every year the organisers seem to do something clever to make the sun come out and this year was no exception for despite of a slightly mixed forecast the sun came out for the Sunday bringing plenty of both day visitors and campers alike.
As ever we saw plenty of familiar faces together with lots of new ones too and one of the nicest things about the show season is meeting customers old and new. We’ll be back in 2018 – same time, same place but for now our attentions turn to our next show and the long drive down to Leeds Castle in Kent for Motors By The Moat. See you there?
