Leeds Castle, former home of rotund monarch with a fondness for relieving his wives of the requirement to own hats, Henry VIII is they say “The Loveliest Castle in the World” And you know what, we thing they’re pretty much spot on. The castle and grounds really are lovely but if you fill the grounds with hundreds of classic cars then we think the ‘Loveliness Factor’ (yep, thats a thing) is cranked up a notch.
And so, over the weekend of 6/7 May saw the annual Motors By The Moat show taking place on the fields surrounding the moat with hundreds of super cars and classics on display plus many other attractions made this a pretty much unmissable weekend for any car enthusiast.
The castle and grounds are truly fantastic and well worth a visit on their own. But add in cars as varied as a Studebaker Imperial, Astra GTE Champion Edition, countless Triumph Stags, Minis, McLarens and Ferarris plus a Renault 4 F6, Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, Dodge Charger, Peugeot 205 ‘Dimma’ not to mention ‘Mater’ and ‘McQueen’ from the Cars movie franchise and countless more and you’ll see this is a pretty special show. Despite some very un-seasonal and un-geographic weather (they told us it always hot and sunny in the Garden of England) the weekend saw huge crowds flocking to the castle’s grounds to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy all that the show had to offer.
For our part we had a great weekend. Its always nice to meet so many customers both old and new at the show and when you have somewhere so nice to spend your weekend then that makes it all the better! You can find loads of photos from the weekend on our Instagram and Facebook pages and hopefully we’ve given you sufficient motivation to get there in 2018! See you there…
