Camperjam 2016 - Show Reports

And so to Camperjam which marks the midpoint of our outdoor show season and we were back at Weston Park in Shropshire for what we think is the 7th year in a row.

Held in the parkland of the aforementioned Weston Park the surroundings are superb and after a week or two of changeable weather in the end the sun came out and treated the assembled VW campers and their owners and enthusiasts to a decent and surprisingly quite warm weekend. Over the last nine years of its existence, Camperjam has grown quite considerably and whilst it has tried to retain it’s family friendly ethos, it does now feel like a very big show these days and isn’t perhaps the relaxed laid back show that it once was…

That said, it’s still a pretty good show and we were kept so busy over the course of the three days that time to have a wander around was somewhat limited – hence the lack of pictures – Even so we did manage to check out some of the display buses and vans and could spend a happy hour or two choosing which camper we’d like to take home!

Part of Camperjam is about the entertainment. On both days a we were entertained by singer opposite our stand which certainly made our working environment that bit nicer (and somewhat reminiscent of having live music opposite us at VW Festival last year) whilst in the evening there were two big tops with a selection of bands including CamperJam favourite, Sixteen Stone Pig playing pretty much everything and anything you could ask for. Aside from that there was an impressively sized fairground and food offerings to suit pretty much every palate together with an impressively large cider bar!

But before we knew it, Camperjam was completed. And so our thoughts turned to our next show. Next weekend we’ll be back in Kent for the Darling Buds Classic Car Show – a new one for LobsterDiecast so maybe we’ll see you there!
