VW Festival 2015

For the past seven years, VW Festival held at Harewood House near Leeds has been the venue for our final outdoor show of the season. Why? Well, you’ve heard about saving the best for last haven’t you?

In the last seven (or possibly eight – we’re not sure) years that we’ve been trading at VW Festival we’ve seen the show develop into what we consider to be probably the best VW show in the UK.

So why do we love VW Festival? It could be that its held in the superb grounds of Harewood House, that superb mix of cars on display, the opportunity to drive home in a charity raffle Beetle (we didn’t win though),  the relaxed atmosphere, the great food, the music or any number of other things!

This year the show was hosted once again by Paul Woodfood who if there is any justice in the world should be a future Top Gear presenter. Over 20,000 people came through the gates and over £18,000 was raised for the shows chosen charity in the Win a Beetle raffle.  As ever, the LobsterDiecast stand was located adjacent to the music tent though this year we were also opposite the food village which also contained the very talented Tom Dibb singing songs from atop his T25 camper. Despite a wet start on the Friday the Sunshine came out Saturday morning and stayed for the rest of the weekend and bringing with it a massive range of the finest cars the VW scene has to offer.

As ever, Team LobsterDiecast had a great weekend and it was nice to meet so many customers both old and new. When we weren’t busy on the stand we did manage a quick wander around (our photos are on our facebook page) and enjoyed Saturday nights 80’s themed disco – the image of three Mr Staypufts from Ghostbusters dancing on stage isn’t something you will often see – but too soon it was all over until next year.

Dates for VW Festival for 2016 are 12-14 August. We’ll be back there next year and we’d highly recommend you are too!
