It’s fair to say it wasn’t really what we expected it to be. You see we thought (and had been told) that London Volksfest was going to be in the style of VW Expo, Tatton Park and the like – a nice mix of classic and modern VW’s. And to be fair there was some of that but the dragstrip (which doubles as North Weald Airfield’s runway) attracted more in the way of modern, modified cars. There’s nothing at all wrong with that but it did mean we had our work cut out a bit. Still, in the end it turned out to be a pretty decent show and the weather gradually improved as the day progressed and the afternoon was pretty nice indeed. In all honestly it’s not going to make it onto our list of regular shows – realistically it is just that bit too far for us given the size of the show – but it’s a nice enough show all the same and well worth checking out if you are in the vicinity next year.

We did manage to take plenty of pictures and you can find them on our facebook page.
